My Story

Embarking on a Life-Changing Journey: My Story

At the tender age of 14, my family and I bravely embarked on a new chapter of our lives, leaving behind the enchanting beauty of Tepic, Nayarit, Mexico, to pursue the American Dream. Now settled in the vibrant and inspiring city of South Bend, Indiana, I’ve discovered a newfound passion for creativity and self-expression.

Together with my supportive husband, Greg Tenhave, we have transformed our dreams into reality by launching GALLERY 2910, an art gallery and paint studio that celebrates the unique talents of local artists.

My journey has been shaped by the pervasive narrative in Latin America that encourages its citizens to seek a “better life” in the United States. This belief has fueled my determination to make a difference in my new community, and I am grateful for the opportunities that have come my way. My story is a testament to the power of resilience, adaptability, and the enduring human spirit.

Below is a longer video of some of my first drawings and paintings (I’d forgotten about this video haha)

Although I have always been the creative type, I had never approached painting until one day when I decided to crack open a painting set that had been given to me a couple years prior

The more I painted the more satisfied and at peace I felt.  Friends and family began noticing my creations and within a couple of years I started building my own following and hosting solo art exhibits

The rest is history, but if you stick around and join in the fun you will find out more about how I came to be the artist and the man that I am now.  I will share with you everything about my journey towards becoming a USA citizen.

Thank you for reading my blog and for your interest in my work.
